i have the homebrew and firmware, and im also using a 1.5 I just can’t get my downloaded psp games to work.. i got the emulated snes games to work just not the psp ones.
Make sure the isos are placed in the ISO folder in the root of the memory stick.
The 1.5 fw can not natively run isos. You have two options
1) upgrade to custom firmware 3.52 m33-2 or 3.40 OE-A
2)download and install devhook version .46 or higher.
The benefits or custom firmware is that isos are natively run from the cross menu bar (XMB) under the game option. Also they have all the functionality of the higher firmwares while maintaining the ability to run homebrew games and applications.
The downside of custom firmware is that it does mess with PSP’s flash memory so there is a slight chance of bricking. The odds are very small that a brick may occur, but the risk is there. If you follow the installation instructions there is a 99% chance that your psp will not brick. Usually a brick may occur when there is a sudden power outage or removal of the MS during installation.
Devhook is a firmware emulator for 1.5 which allows for isos to be run. Devhook does not mess with the flash memory making it 100% safe to use for the psp. The downside is that it only emulates up to firmware 3.03 making some newer games unplayable.
