What Nintendo Ds Games are best for an 8th grade girl?
I’m getting a Nintendo DS Lite (pink) for an 8th grade girl for Christmas. I want to know what games to get. Below are some games she’s interested in. If you can, pick out the top 2 or 3 kind of games you think a smart, 8th grade girl would find the the most fun and why.
-The Sims 2: Pets
-Nintendogs
-Hamsterz Life (coming soon)
-Hannah Montana
-Animal Crossing: Wild World
-Cooking Mama
-Eragon
-Harvest Moon DS
-Tamagotchi Connection: Corner Shop 2
-Nickelodeon Avatar: The Last Airbender
-Touch Detective
I think Touch Detective looks like a good game, but I’m worried that she’ll think the mysteries are too easy to solve. Does someone (or if you know someone) who played this game find this game challenging, moderate, or easy?
I forgot to put in some details about the girl herself. This might help everyone pick what games she will like. This 8th grade girl:
-plays soccer all year round
-likes games like Runescape, Neopets, DDR, Super Smash Brothers, Hey You Pikachu!, and ESPECIALLY Maplestory
-likes anime/manga
-has 2 pet turtles (took good care of them at first, then got bored of them)
-had 2 chickens (same thing happened with the turtles)
-found tamogatchi to become boring after 2 weeks
-likes challenges

well, i am only in 5th grade but i know what games i would like the best. if the girl is into animal stuff then the games i would suggest are these: Nintendogs, The Sims 2 pets, or Animal Crossing. of course, i don’t know very much about these games, but i heard they were good. if you know anyone else that has a nintendo ds you should ask them in person what kinds of games they like-if they are somewhere around her age level. all of these games would probably work, but i am not so sure about the avatar one.

Nintendogs: What 8th grade girl can resist a cute little puppy? It’s a very cute and fun game to play.
Animal Crossing: It was fun on the GC. Don’t have it for DS, but if it’s anything like the GC version, it’s a lot of fun.
Other games to consider: Mario Kart, Super Mario Bros.
Don’t ever buy a game (Hannah Montana) based on a Disney TV series. It’s just terrible. I think the That’s So Raven series got some of the lowest scores on a handheld system.

Ooh, Touch Detective! I’d go for that, for sure! That game looks really cute, and being in the detective-text-adventure genre, it’d probably be great for an intelligent girl.
Animal Crossing: Wild World is another fun one, although admittedly a lot of its appeal comes from the online WiFi capabilities–so if she doesn’t have friends with the game, it may lose appeal at a faster rate. However, that’s not to say it can’t be enjoyable on its own. I’d recommend it too.
Cooking Mama is cute and fun, and makes good use the DS’s features. The game’s got no story or direction–you just pick it up and cook. Really fun at first, but doesn’t have a long-lasting play value.
The others, I haven’t played much. Although a lot of my friends love the Harvest Moon series–and have since they were little, so it could be worth looking into as well.

Sounds like me!!!! Since she enjoys runescape, i would recommend eragon. especially if she has read the book. It has that kind of feel, only better. I beat the game and absolutely loved it. It is challenging and has great graphics. I wouldn’t get nintendogs if she got bored with tamagotchi. she will soon get bored with that; i was.
