Does Playstation 3 play Playstation 2 imported games?

Probally not. For some reason they like to restrict regions.

Just because the PS3 doesn’t have region locked, it doesn’t mean that you can play any imported games. Playstation 3 only plays imported games that are not region locked. Now, if the opposite is true, PS3 region locked and PS3 games no region locked, then you can play any imported PS3 games on the PS3.
Anyway, I don’t think you can play imported PS2 games on the PS3 because the PS2 games are region locked.

It can since the Ps3 can be tweaked in the option settings to change the region, BUT THE BACKWARD COMPATIBILITY *****! I got a PS3, and the way it’s processed, it’s rendered in 640×480 and there is no softener. So keep your PS2.
