Play PC games without meeting all specifications?

Years ago I remember using a application that would allow me to play PC games without meeting all the specifications, it worked well, but it’s been a long long time since I have played a PC game, I just got a new game, but my graphics card is too old, does anyone know what this program is that I’m talking about, because I just can’t seem to find it, I don’t even know how to describe it detailed enough to get a google result. Thanks for any answers.

Wow many said that program is just a rumor but maybe that application really exist.. but even have found that program and try to play new games from your old graphics card expect there will be some complications in graphics like textures gone crazy..etc.. just to somehow tell you that better upgrade the your system….
