Not very well, I’m afraid. Not only does the psp only have one stick, it’s not even a real stick, just a pseudo-stick kind of nub thing.
This is one reason why different kinds of games have done well on psp. racing and adventure games are still playable. First-person and third-person shooters are not so playable or popular.
You just have to reassign the buttons as well as you can. One thing you could do is have the d-pad emulate the left stick, and the thumb-nub be the right stick, since most ps2 games that use both sticks ignore the d-pad. But that would involve a lot of dexterity.
The Playstation store is always selling old ps1 titles for download to ps3 or psp, but never shooters, for this reason I think.
i have know idea because the psp only has that little small game slot and the ps2 has way bigger slot thing so i dont know why people say that i have a psp and a ps2 and i know it dosent work dont try it might reck your console
I believe that the psp cannot emulate ps2 games, but if i’m wrong and it does, the games would be very hard to emulate(better graphics, bigger files, more momory) You would just have to stay away from games that need 2 analogs
you can’t emulate PS2 games on a PSP. not very well anyway. there are no PS2 emulators for the PSP, that i know of. i’ve been hacking the PSP for over a year now and i have never heard of one.
you can however emulate PS1 games on the PSP. the four buttons take the place of the 2nd analog stick, the same way it does in a FPS game for the PSP.
there are also modders who modify there consoles. some have been able to connect PS2 controllers, wireless XBOX controllers, and even add a second analog stick.
