I just bought a PS3 40gb but I have only have one game for it and I really want to play my PS2 on the PS3. Is Sony going to make any software to fix this?
I’m sorry but NO. They had to remove the backwards compatibility so that they would be able to lower the price of the PS3. I’m lucky that I bought my PS3 earlier this year in march, so yeah. You can’t expect the PS3 to be perfect, you know.
I seriously doubt they’re going to do any kind of firmware or anything.
sony can’t fix the problem, they took off the gpu and cpu, which means you cannot play ps2 games. the 80gb only took off the cpu, which means you can play ps2 games, but in software emulation.
you can’t play ps2 games on the 40gb ps3…. but if you really want to play your ps2 games on the ps3 the only other way is to either exchange it for an 80gb ps3… or if the store where you bought it still has it buy a 60gb ps3 because the 60gb has the emotion hardware in it which lets it play all ps2 and ps1 games….. the 80gb ps3 has only limited backwards compatibility meaning some ps2 games played on the 80gb ps3 will have problems….

no the 40gb will NEVER be able to play PS3 GAMES, your better off trading that in and getting a 60gb or 80gb.
