i got an xbox 360 awhile ago. and all that seems to work on it is xbox 360 games. but you are supposed to be able to play regular xbox games on it. but how to you change the setting?
The xbox360 games DO play regular xbox games. All you have to do is download an update for it. Just get a “silver” xboxlive account (meaning all you can do is download stuff without the joy of playing online) and get the update from there. After you get the account, go ahead and start the xbox1 game. It should tell you that you need to DL an update. Just hit yes and it should work.
There isn’t a setting to change- some games are compatible while other are not. The best thing to do is put your xbox game in and see if it will work. Each game that is compatible needs an upgrade from 360 online. So that means that your 360 has to be connected to the net for the upgrade to happen. I hope this helps.
You need the hard drive if you want to play SOME, but not ALL, XBX games. If you don’t have the hard drive, then about the only XBX game you can play is Halo and Halo 2.
To download the latest patch, you can either use1. XBL (silver account is okay). As soon as you log in, the 360 should check to see if there’s a new patch out, and if it’s it, it will ask you if you want to download the upate. 2. You can write to MS and ask them to send you a disk to load onto your 360. 3. You can download the patch to your PC, burn it to a CD or DVD and then upload it to your 360. Here’s the link to burn the latest patch:

You can already play regular xbox games on your 360, just not all of them. , there’s a list of which will work and which won’t.
