Why are they still making Playstation 2 games when Playstation 3 has been out for awhile now?

I believe there are a lot of people that cannot afford A PS 3 or an XBOX 360, so they probably realease games for PS2 to make more money and it also helps gamer with low income, if you look at it they only realease the Big Hits like Guitar Hero 3.

They keep making games for those of us to lazy/ not enough $$$ to buy a PS3. I love it that they are still making games. It makes having a PS2 great, cause you never get bored with it. That 80 GB PS3 with motorstorm for $499 is calling my name, but, for now, i still play my Ps2

My thought on this is that the PS3 is not well established yet and it needs time to build up before Sony ditches the PS2 which is their main thing for now. PS3 should be picking up around summer of 2008 and PS2 will most likely be done and over with by then, Sony has tough competitors this time around.
Why stop working on your main life line when it’s your main tool right now, PS3 needs time to get Sony’s full attention.

Bc tons of people own PS2 and not that many have PS3. Plus the PS2 games will play on PS3.
There aren’t that many games on PS3 yet.

it’s because the PS3 hasn’t been widely exepted yet, and is costly. Also, they aren’t selling PS3 games as well as PS2 games, so they are trying to make money.

The PS2 is the best selling console ever with over 100 million sold worldwide. Honestly I don’t think the PS3 or 360 will ever achieve that even though I like both of those systems. Together they are still at less than 15 million sold. And the Wii is at like 10 million or something. So the PS2 has too big of a userbase still to be ignored.

Its the most succesful gaming system of all time. They want to continue making money, and they don’t think that everyone who owns a ps2 will want to buy a ps3 cuz they cost so much. I’m happy. DON’T STOP MAKING THEM!!!!!

Unlike MS and Nintendo, who pull the plug on a system within months of it’s successor comgin out, Sony doesn’t like to do that. There were still PS1 games coming out at least as late as 2003, maybe 2004. As far as Sony is concerned, even though the PS1 was their top console only for 5 years, they consider the PS1 to have had a 9+ year life.
