There are TONS! A great 1st person shooter is Call Of Duty 4. If you want a MMORPG the most popular still is World Of Warcraft. Are you looking more along the lines of free games? What kind of games do you like? The answer to that would be helpful.

Get Battlefield 2 or Battlefield 2142.
They are both mostly for online play, though there are also singleplayer battles with CPUs.
I have Battlefield 2 myself and it has great graphics and an awesome squad and commander system. It has up to 64 players per map.
If you don’t fancy shooter games then get something with more RPG elements such as World of Warcraft or Guild Wars.
