I wanna get it for my husband but he wants to be able to play those games on it until he gets more play 3 games.
what do you mean by update the hard drive? How do you do that, and do you have to pay?
Yes, the 80GB PS3 can play both PS1 and PS2 games. The only PS3 that cannot play PS2 games is the 40GB PS3, but the 40GB PS3 can play PS1 games though.
Yes it will play ps1 and 2 games just fine, however if you want memory card data from a memory card you already have you have to buy an extra adapter, the ps3 dosen’t have a memory card slot. When I bought mine I believe it was about $14
yes it can play ps2 and playstation games but it plays them on an emulator and not with the original emotion chip use in the PS2. What that means is some games might not look good or might not even work. I suggest you get the 40GB version and just update the hard drive when needed.
