Treyarch’s video game homage to James Bond’s latest, Quantum of Solace, has acquired a collection of screenshots ahead of the game’s release next week. For the first time, the game’s multiplayer modes are shown in still life.
Quantum of Solace arrives on November 4 for PC, Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 2, Wii, and Nintendo DS, and there’s a brief PC demo now on FileShack.
Just in time for Halloween, Valve has released the introduction for its cooperative zombie shooter Left 4 Dead.
The over four-minute movie was created by the same internal Valve team that produced the acclaimed Team Fortress 2 “Meet the” videos.
Not quite in time for Halloween, Left 4 Dead will hit Xbox 360 and PC on November 18. The demo will be released on November 11, or November 6 for pre-order customers.

When he opens the box, he releases hordes of beasts thought to be fictional - such as werewolves and gryphons - into an unprepared modern world. A full scale war between man and myth begins, and it is quickly complicated by the actions of powerful secret societies. As the person responsible for releasing this terror, Deckard’s unwittingly become the only person capable of containing it once more and saving civilization from being destroyed by the terrifying creatures of the box.
We may have spent the week at Valve, but that didn’t stop the news from moving on without us.

If you can’t stand waiting till Summer 2009, and you don’t live in Japan, it’s your lucky day. We’ve uncovered an unboxing of Nintendo’s new DSi which should thoroughly whet your appetite (though whether that will hold you over for a whole eight months is another story). If you follow the read link you’ll discover a plethora of photos of the packaging and device, including some pretty nice macro shots of all the slots, ports, and LEDs. We’ve included a couple of pics after the break, but if you’re a stickler for details, you’ll want to take a gander at the whole set.
