Can i play nintendo ds games using microsd card without buying the r4ds/dstt packages?

Nas asked: I have my own sandisk 1gb microsd card with a microsd card adapter(suitable size). Can i just download the kernel on either r4dc/dstt websites, put it in my microsd card and play nintendo ds games with it?
